The Mineral Physics Group of the University of Cambridge has two postdoctoral positions available in combined high-pressure high-temperature neutron scattering of minerals. The successful candidates will join Drs. Dove and Redfern to extend and apply our recent developments in high-P/T powder diffraction at ISIS, the world's most intense neutron spallation source.
The application of this technology will focus on the structural controls on the stability of minerals in the Earth' crust and mantle, within the context of the group's long-standing interest in mineral stability and phase transitions.
The Mineral Physics Group is part of the Department of Earth Sciences, and is a large multi-disciplinary group with interests in structural physics and chemistry under conditions pertinent to the Earth environment.
We seek applications from solid state physicists, chemists, mineralogists and materials scientists with a track-record of independent research. These positions are available to fill immediately and will remain open until filled. The salary is on the University's standard scale in the range ₤17,626 to ₤26,491 p.a. and is age related.
Applicants should submit a CV, publications list, and the names (and e-mail addresses) of 2 referees to Dr. Martin Dove, preferably by e-mail, as soon as possible.
For further information please contact Martin Dove or Simon Redfern.
